On December 1st, 2022, Circuit Cycle & Sports in Millet, Alberta, scheduled their doors closed in preparation for a move. “We are growing and in order to better service our market, more floor space, and a larger tech room is required.” stated Brian Hahn, Owner and Operator.

Since Circuit Cycle & Sports opened in 2015, it has gone through two moves. Each time the floor space increased, but the technical room remain the same with only two workstations. “It is our hope that we will be able to hire another Certified Mechanic soon.” stated Hahn.

Hahn advised that in 2017, they began to offer courses on bicycle mechanics, and in 2018 Circuit Cycle & Sports developed a full program. “As a Certified Professional Mechanic and member of the PBMA, I saw the need to offer a full program.” stated Hahn. “We now provide BAM (Bicycle Assembly & Maintenance) and Wheel Building and Truing certificate earning courses in our program. “In 2018 we legally branded the program as CABS, Central Alberta Bicycle School.” advised Hahn. To date CABS has many graduate mechanics working in the field. “Some have gone onto and building their own bicycle shops.” stated Hahn, “Graduating students are known in the industry as CABS Certified Bicycle Mechanics.”

The new location, scheduled to open in the first week of January 2023, will have a technical room, with ten state-of-the-art workstations. “The only variable we have no control over, is the supply chain of tools,” stated Hahn. “The government restrictions over the past two years have adversely affected the bicycle industry and professional tool supplies.

The new location will be at 5008 – 51 Avenue, in Millet. Alberta.
