About the Event

Join your fellow cycling enthusiasts for an unforgettable adventure with our group ride from Okotoks, Alberta to Diamond Valley, Alberta and back!

This 60 km round trip promises a scenic journey along paved roads, hard-packed paths, and picturesque trails, with about 3.5 hours in the saddle to keep things invigorating yet manageable. Along the way, we’ll pause at the iconic Chuckwagon Cafe for a delicious meal, lively fellowship, and some well-deserved rest before heading back. To make the most of the experience, we recommend booking a room at the Econolodge in Okotoks—our departure point—for a convenient start and end to the day. Safety is our top priority, so please come equipped with essential PPE, reflective vests, or colourful outwear to ensure everyone stays visible and protected. 

The Itinerary:

Sunday:
2:00 PM – Explore Okotoks on two wheels. A preamble about the town looking for the parks and trails.
4:00 PM – Early Dinner Social at The George Traditional House located at 31 Southridge Dr #101, Okotoks. Here we discuss the trip and get to know any new members that may have attended. It is here we can reveal who have decided to stay the extra day and in that case we will plan an additional exploration of the area.
Monday:
8:00 AM – Suggested location for Breakfast is the Morning Brunch Company located at 302 – 10 D’Arcy Ranch Dr, Okotoks.
9:00 AM – Muster at the lot of the Econolodge and depart on our planned route (see below). Make sure you have water and snacks along. We will ne stoping along the way to stretch, take pictures and tell a few white lies.
11:30 AM – We should be arriving at the Chuckwagon Cafe and get to know those folks, have a lunch and check our our rides to the return back to Okotoks.
1:00 PM – Return to Okotoks. We can discuss the route back, as there is an alternative way to get back which may be mostly gravel. So the chips is gravel or pavement.
5:00 PM – Dinner Meet at Leopold’s Tavern located at 10 D’arcy Ranch Dr #502, Okotoks. Time to chill.
